@JosephWouk we need to start demanding the talking heads to quantify their claims. Here's the narrative conversation so far:
We have this amazing new mRNA technology! It confers 95% protection against exposure and transmission of covid19.
What do these new mRNA vaccines do?
Mitigating symptoms, but it's going to be touted, alluded really, as great protection against covid.
Oh, OK. That sounds good, I guess. How?
It produces spike proteins.
OK, that's reasonable. What do spike proteins do?
They are the Velcro that makes covid stick to your cells. You'll produce antibodies for it.
What about all the other parts of the virus?
We'll, we are banking on covid not changing, completely unlike every other virus in history.
Really? That doesn't sound reasonable.
Nevermind. Just take the vaccine.
How long does it last?
Forever...maybe. Probably.
I dunno about this.
We can't open the economy until we reach herd immunity.
How many people is that?
60%. Maybe. No, wait, it's more like 75%. Hold up, now it's 80% yeah. 80% sounds right.
Hmmm. OK, you're the expert. OK, now what? I got my shots. Now what?
Still waiting for 80%.
OK now what? We are at 80%.
Still not opening.
Why? We did what we were asked.
Well, there are some that aren't getting the vaccine.
So?
We want them to.
What's the issue?
They are asking too many questions. We are calling it spreading misinformation.
What are they talking about?
They are pointing out the vaccines don't stop you from getting infected and transmitting covid.
What? You said they did.
Yeah well we didn't have the data. By the way, we are fast tracking one of the vaccines for full approval to counter their most valid argument against not getting vaccinated.
But....there's still no data for long term.
What are you talking about? We literally have 6 months of data.
But not years of data.
.......so?
So that's important.
Are you a doctor?
No.
Virulologist? Epidemiologist?
No.
So why are you asking? You wouldn't get it.
Hmmmm. Ok.
By the way, those who are refusing vaccinations will now suffer social consequences.
What consequences?
We will do everything possible to prevent them from participating in society.
Why?
So they don't spread covid to vaccinated.
That doesn't make sense if vaccinated can still get infected and transmit.
So? You get to do everything still. It doesn't affect you.
<-------- end scene. You've arrived to where we are currently.

Can't re-watch it again
I was 13-14 when I watched this movie. It's a long movie if I recall it correctly. I was so moved by it's theme, so I watched it all. I had strong feelings of sadness and sympathy towards little robot David that wanted to be a real child and to have a mom to love him. And that little bear ... I cried during some scenes. I don't ...
