This 10 part miniseries is about the skeleton crew of soldiers left to guard the Golan Heights during Yom Kippur in 1973.
They were attacked by a Syrian army force more than 10 times their number.
After initially being forced back, they rallied and managed to destroy the entire Syrian armored brigade in the battle that became known as “the valley of tears.“
This mini series is frighteningly realistic. The battle sequences are more completely shown than anywhere else. In addition, it does a better job showing what it is to be Israeli than any other movie or show I have ever seen. - JW
From IMDB:
A true masterpiece. Got the chills.
I was in utter shock to see how life was like back in the war. It's enraging how nobody teaches those things at schools in Israel, or even talk about it to the bare minimum today. This show not only educated me better about the war, but also made me realize how awful and horrible it was, just like any other war in the world.
Besides all the historical value this TV series has in terms of the precise reenactment the actors portrayed - can we please talk about the impeccable, on point acting? How the actors portrayed and gave life to their characters is unexplainable. It's a shame how it's unspoken. Like I said, a true masterpiece. The script, the storyline, the character development in only 10 EPISODES is just perplexing.
Everything is on point. I am running out of words to describe how good this show is, so the only thing left is that, if you're reading this, and you're undeciseful about whether watch it or not, do it. Watch it. The war portrayal is amazingly done, because despite it being centered in a whole inside story, it also reflects how unfair Israeli Arabs were treated back then, despite serving the army and helping the country because they were still part of it.
It gives the perfect unbiased way to give us a plot inside this terrifying war, and also teach us the history we must know, in the most neutral way. I should also include that I although I was amazed by this, I gotta admit that it's not for everybody's eyes, since it contains a lot of gore. Like, a lot. I was about to click away because there were really intense scenes, so I believe that viewer discretion is advised

Can't re-watch it again
I was 13-14 when I watched this movie. It's a long movie if I recall it correctly. I was so moved by it's theme, so I watched it all. I had strong feelings of sadness and sympathy towards little robot David that wanted to be a real child and to have a mom to love him. And that little bear ... I cried during some scenes. I don't ...
